I love Spring.
I love growing plants and the hustle and bustle of a busy greenhouse season.
I love seeing the joy on customers’ faces when they pick just the right plants.
I love making people happy with Grandma’s Chicken Noodle Soup for lunch. Or Chicken Tortilla. Or Tuscano soup. Or Mandarin Orange Chicken Salad.
But come mid-July, I love the sound of silence. No fans.
Maybe you have to not hear it to understand. All spring the ventilation fans run in the greenhouses to keep the air circulating. Keep the temperature even. Help keep the bug population down. Keep the humidity out.
Today, they are off. The sound of silence. I love it! Until spring. Then I will look forward to seeds germinating, cuttings rooting out, leaves bursting forth. And fans running. 🙂
