It was Derby Day. Thank heavens for DVR. The first Saturday in May is always unbelievably busy for us so we usually just get to see a bit of news coverage of the Kentucky Derby the next day. But tonight I am enjoying the pre-race show and get to see California Chrome win. Doesn’t matter to me that I already know the results!
While the ladies were pinning on their hats and the mix-masters were muddling the mint for the Mint Juleps, we were getting ready for our annual Planter Play Day for Kids.
We had 15 sets of kids and parents or grandparents playing in the dirt.
We’ve been watching some of these kids grow up in the past few years. Little Genevieve on the left wasn’t even walking yet at her first Planter Play Day.
Others were just on their first Play Day.
All of them had a good time!
I doubt Mae will be making a Run for the Roses!
But that doesn’t mean her mom and dad don’t spend a lot of time chasing after her!
