I could get used to this!

A belated Merry Christmas to all! I hope you all had as good holiday as I did.

Today I have done absolutely nothing. Well, almost. I ate breakfast, did the dishes, curled up on the couch under a blanket, read a couple of magazines, took a nap and just generally zoned out. It was REALLY fun! Yep, I could do this for at least a few more days. Better be grateful for today!

While I seem to have dropped off the face of the blog world, we have been very busy in the bakeshop and The Prairie Bistro. Since Thanksgiving (my last blog) we had our biggest Pride of Dakota Show in Bismarck, shipped out a few hundred packages of goodies to customers all over the country and served several Christmas parties.

Kaitlin learned (I hope) to check the speed on the mixer before adding the flour and turning it on.

This was just the start on December 15. Putting the boxes together was easy. Filling them with caramels, shortbread, and other cookies and candy was a bit more time consuming!

This is one of five Christmas parties at The Prairie Bistro the first week of December.

Needless to say, I wore my elves out in the past 4 weeks. We finished up a couple of days before Christmas and we are all still trying to catch up on what we didn’t get done earlier: sleep, buying presents, wrapping presents, cleaning house, Christmas cards, etc. Couldn’t have done it without my elves!

Mark & I had a nice Christmas Eve with the grandkids (and their parents), then had my family and a friend here on Christmas Day, then spent the evening with my psuedo-sisters laughing about ‘back in the day’. A great reward for a frantic month!
