New Family

As I promised, here is Ashton Mark, the newest Stromswold, and his daddy, Shay.

And here he is with his big sister Madison and mom Heidi. I have some glowing pictures of Ashton with his very proud Grandpa, too, but the elder Stromswold wouldn’t let me publish them. Bashful, I guess.

It was family week here. Mark’s sister from Mississippi and her husband were here for a few days. I became an aunt Monday and a grandma Wednesday.

On a sadder note, Mark’s brother and his wife lost a granddaughter on Thursday. Acacia was 18 and didn’t recover from brain surgery. My heart goes out to her family in Regina and here. She inspired her mother Jacque to create Hope’s Home, which is a facility dedicated to providing daycare for fragile children. It is the first of its kind in Canada and is highly acclaimed.

    Awwwww! Congrats to everyone!

    • Thanks! Grandpa is especially pleased as this is the only male Stromswold grandchild in Mark’s family of six. You know, the whole ‘carrying on the family name’ stuff. I’m only a step-grandma and am making it my mission to make sure that Madison isn’t feeling left out. Not working, so far! She’ll get used to him, though.

Hahaha! Shay is in for some of his own. Give it a few years and I will be putting a bug in that little boy’s ear. Adorable!
